DESCRIPTION:This interactive workshop explores how augmented reality (AR) can be used as a pedagogical tool to deepen learners’ relationships to place\, memory\, and community. Drawing from Layers of Place: Austin—a collection of six location-based AR artworks—participants will engage with artists’ approaches to place-based storytelling\, public history\, and experiential learning. Through discussion\, short activities\, and case studies\, the session examines how AR can function as a method for cultivating attention\, care\, and critical engagement with the spaces we inhabit.
