Deadline's Reality TV Summit Comes to SXSW London with Netflix UK Boss, AI Deep Dive, and Taskmaster
Deadline is bringing its Reality TV Summit to SXSW London with panels, keynotes, and masterclasses scheduled for June 2 at the Tab Church in Shoreditch.
Keynote: Netflix's UK Unscripted Boss
Syeda Irtizaali, Netflix's UK unscripted director, will deliver the keynote address. Irtizaali was one of the architects behind the landmark BBC-NBC deal that made The Traitors a smash hit on both sides of the Atlantic. She will reveal her priorities and goals at Netflix and share her perspective on the unscripted business.
Taskmaster Masterclass
Alex Horne, creator of the BAFTA-winning Taskmaster, will break down the show's creative process alongside director Andy Devonshire, series producer Andy Cartwright, and executive producer Jon Thoday. The team will explore how they continue to invent the show's distinctive games while balancing comedy and competition.
AI Deep Dive: The Future of Unscripted
A dedicated focus on artificial intelligence in the unscripted industry will feature:
- 404 Films — presenting its AI-powered talent show format
- AiMation — discussing the making of the world's first AI reality show
- Spirit Studios — exploring how AI can power up true crime and documentary production
- Twinnin — examining how contributors and performers can best be represented in AI-driven formats
The Future of Entertainment Programming
A high-profile executive session on entertainment programming will feature leaders from SNL UK, The Traitors, Last One Laughing: UK, Destination X, and The Apprentice, including Helen Kruger Bratt (UTAS UK), David Brindley (Twofour), Tim Harcourt (Studio Lambert), Ben Crompton (Fremantle), and Natalka Znak (Remarkable/Initial/Znak TV).
