Huck Magazine Hosts Village Underground Showcase with shame at SXSW London 2026

Huck Magazine is bringing a dose of East London noise to SXSW London 2026 as official co-curator of a music showcase at Village Underground on June 5.

The Lineup

Headlining are South London post-punk band shame, known for their high-energy, cathartic live shows that fuse snarling punk intensity with sharp social commentary. The band has been a fixture of the UK underground since their 2018 debut Songs of Praise and continues to evolve their sound toward a more expansive, joy-driven approach.

Supporting acts include:

Huck describes the curation as pulling together "a shared love of distortion, catharsis and sweat-drenched live energy," with more acts still to be announced.

The Event

Doors open at 6:30 pm, with performances running from 7 pm until 11 pm. Village Underground, a converted Victorian warehouse in Shoreditch, is a cornerstone of London's live music ecosystem — a fitting venue for a publication that's spent two decades documenting counterculture.

SXSW London 2026

The showcase is part of the second edition of SXSW London, running June 1–6 across Shoreditch and East London venues. The festival combines music performances, film premieres, talks, exhibitions, and technology showcases in the spirit of its Austin progenitor.

Other Huck-connected highlights across the festival include a live set from South London MC Jords (who graced the cover of Huck Issue 82) on June 3, and a special guest speaker appearance from viral street selector DJ AG, featured in Huck's current issue.

The Bigger Picture

SXSW London debuted last year as the first permanent international expansion of the iconic Texas festival. The return of independent cultural publications like Huck as co-curators signals that the festival is building an identity rooted in London's own creative communities rather than simply importing Austin's playbook.
