SXSW has officially confirmed its 2027 edition will take place March 15–21, 2027 in downtown Austin. The festival returns for seven days of convergence across Innovation, Film & TV, Music, and Comedy — and this year badges are already on sale with a 10% early-bird discount.

Context: A Festival in Transition

SXSW 2027 arrives during a period of significant structural change. The Austin Convention Center is undergoing a multiyear redevelopment, which forced the 2026 edition into a decentralized "clubhouse" format spread across hotels and alternative venues. The 2027 edition will reportedly continue concurrent programming across all tracks, with events dispersed beyond the traditional convention center footprint.
