Pain is currently measured on a qualitative scale first used 70 years ago, leaving many to feel like their experiences aren’t fully understood. With advances in technology, the healthcare industry is exploring how connected care systems, alongside emerging AI tools, can help change this model by quantifying the physiological changes a person undergoes when they are experiencing pain, potentially offering a new way to discuss and treat chronic pain. This session will review the realities of living with pain and how a deeper understanding of the way pain affects the body can improve treatment.
