Urbanism, SXSW, and Austin are an inseparable pairing!  In 2025 we kicked off the the urbanists meetup where dozens of architects, planners, and placemakers took a pulse of the most exciting urban ideas at SXSW. We also forged ties between SXSWers with local Austinites. The meetup features a round of self introduction, followed by some light, interactive networking activities. We will also discuss urbanism in Austin, and provide a platform for attendees to propose walks and outings to see new and historic projects that make up Austin’s urban fabric.
