The experimental art-rock collab of multi-instrumentalist creators Sam Maloney and Desiree Das Gupta, Kali Horse blends fantasy and harsh realism, colliding genres with reckless abandon. Production that dips between the best of alt-rock and avante-pop spheres, Kali Horse is a celebration of intentional genrelessness.  Digital and live drums under emotional harmonies, swimming guitar enveloped by foley samples make the live band ripple with eccentricity. Their avante-pop whimsicality channels Björk, their soaring anthemic moments reflect their rock roots. The combo of Sam's feathery vocal and Des' powerhouse belt has their voices in conversation with one another - a hypnotic connection. The debut record 'Some Type of Electric Lagoon' (2023) is a vibrant metaphorical swamp journey, an opus. The new EP '2099' veers into industrial soundscapes - a bold snap back to reality. More bite and grit, with a higher polish than ever thanks to Emmy-winning foley artist Brandon Bak (Possum, OOZ). The live act lit up festivals like NYC’s New Colossus and Ontario's River & Sky, opening for and somehow making sense with SUUNS and Ruby Waters alike. Hypnotic.
