What are the vibes? This presentation will unpack the idea of a "vibe" - an aesthetic appraisal of a situation - and how these vibes can "shift." These shifts are dictated by cultural and political undercurrents, by current events, but most importantly by developments in technology. In a rapidly changing landscape with more sophisticated generative AI and social media algorithms, the vibes are shifting almost too fast to keep up. New meme genres, political movements, and ideological upheavals are occurring - and this talk will explain how and why.
