Led by Montreal-based auteurSam Woywitka, the project has evolved into a powerhouse collective of the city’s mostadventurous musicians.  SAMWOY’s tracks veer from ambient serenity and lush orchestration to explosive synths anddistorted rhythms, all anchored by Woywitka’s obsession with emotional extremes. Hissophomore album Even Sad Boys Like To Have Fun is out now and has become abreakthrough release, charting on Earshot for 48 consecutive weeks while earning nationaland international attention. Live, SAMWOY is a visceral experience volatile, beautiful, unpredictable. The project hasdelivered acclaimed showcases at POP Montreal and M for Montreal, as well as a standoutperformance at SXSW.Rooted in themes of chaos, catharsis, and redemption shaped in part by Woywitka’s near-fatalcar accident in his Vancouver Island hometown. SAMWOY’s music thrives on contrast:post-punk grit against electronic gloss, euphoria against collapse. It’s a world where nothing isoff limits and beauty is always carved from the wreckage.
