ATDev Advances Robotic Mobility as SXSW Pitch 2026 Finalist

Pittsburgh-based robotics startup Assistive Technology Development Inc (ATDev) has been named a finalist in the Healthcare, AssistiveTech & BioTech category for the 18th annual SXSW Pitch competition.

What They're Building

ATDev develops robotic technologies for mobility and rehabilitation, targeting people with mobility challenges, disabilities, and older adults. Their Reflex robotic rehabilitation device will be displayed on March 13 at the JW Marriott in Austin during the SXSW Pitch event.

The company is also a subcontractor in the national ARPA-H RAMMP initiative, a federal program accelerating the development of robotic wheelchair technologies.

SXSW Pitch Track Record

The SXSW Pitch competition has a strong track record as a startup launchpad. Since 2009, 732 companies have participated, collectively raising over $22 billion in venture capital and exits.

"We're honored to be selected as a finalist for SXSW Pitch 2026," said Owen Kent, co-founder & CMO. "Our goal is to build practical robotic mobility solutions that expand access to care and support greater independence."
